A provocative hoarding depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the demon king Ravana displayed outside the Uttar Pradesh Congress office has sparked attention and debate.

The hoarding, reportedly installed late at night during the Dussehra festivities, shows PM Modi with ten symbolic heads representing issues such as inflation, lawlessness, corruption, ED, “vote theft,” the Election Commission, CBI, unemployment, exam paper leaks, and dictatorship.

In the same hoarding, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is portrayed as Lord Ram, aiming arrows at Modi’s ten heads, while UP Congress chief Ajay Rai appears in the role of Lakshman. The poster suggests that Rahul Gandhi is the one who will “rescue the public” from these pressing problems.

The hoarding was put up by Aryan Mishra, the state vice-president of the NSUI (National Students’ Union of India). Mishra stated that the depiction is a symbolic representation of how the Congress party, particularly Rahul Gandhi, is fighting against the growing crises under the current BJP-led government.

The poster quickly caught the attention of passersby on Thursday morning, with many stopping to take pictures and videos, which soon circulated on social media platforms.

Speaking to the media, UP Congress President Ajay Rai defended the hoarding, saying, “The ten issues depicted as Ravana’s heads are not fictional, they reflect the real and growing concerns of the public. From inflation to the misuse of central agencies like ED and CBI, people are suffering.”

He further criticized the government for allegedly suppressing dissent. Citing the example of activist Sonam Wangchuk, Rai said, “Look at how the government is treating those who expose the truth about Adani and other powerful players. They are being silenced.”

“The way prices are rising day by day, the public is both frustrated and helpless. This hoarding reflects the sentiments of the people and the reality they are living in,” he added.

While the hoarding has gained praise among Congress supporters, it is expected to draw criticism from BJP leaders and supporters for portraying the Prime Minister in a mythological villain’s image.
